Carrboro

  • Moved to Orange County (July 2004)
  • Became a Carrboro resident (January 2006)
  • Chaired the Carrboro New Horizons Task Force, a temporary group created to serve as a liaison and communication conduit between the Town and the newly annexed residents (May 2006 - June 2007)
  • Appointed to the Carrboro Planning Board (September 2006)

  • Member, Triangle Land Conservancy (1996-present)
  • Member, Friends of Bolin Creek (2006-present)
  • Coach, 11-12 year old Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Basketball Team (Winter 2006-07)
  • Member, United Church of Chapel Hill (attended since 2001; elected to Church Council 2007)
  • Member, Friends of the Carrboro Library (2005 - present)


City of Durham

  • Member, City of Durham Recreation Advisory Committee (1994-1996)
  • Member, City of Durham Open Space and Trails (DOST) Commission (1994-1996; 1997-2003); Vice-Chair for several years; Member of the Trails Committee, which planned and routed many of the proposed trails and greenways in Durham (1993-2003) 
  • Member, Friends of the Durham Library (1997-2004)
  • Member, Eno River Association (1996-2004)
  • Member, Rails to Trails Conservancy, Durham Sierra Club, Triangle Greenways Council
